La Bateau is a Sun Odyssey 44i equipped with a fixed keel drafting 6 feet 8 inches, and is excellently suited for navigating the Apostle Islands. This modern sailboat is designed to go further and faster, and to be easily sailed short-handed. The Sun Odyssey 44i affords extraordinary comfort, whether at sea or at anchor. Interior Layout: La Bateau can comfortably accommodate up to 8 adults overnight. This boat is the three cabin/two head version, which includes three generous cabins, an owner's version with a large, boat-queen-size berth. All berths are equipped with premium mattresses, and the salon table converts to an additional double berth. It has 2 heads, each equipped with a shower and electric flush toilet. The forward head includes a fold-out partition that creates a nice, enclosed shower space. All interior lights are high efficiency LEDs, providing lots of light without draining the house battery bank. Galley: La Bateau is equipped with a full galley, which includes a 3-burner stainless steel stove with thermostatically controlled oven and stainless steel protection bar, double basin sink with hot and cold water, microwave, 12v refrigerator with stainless steel door for side access, and separate 12v freezer. Sails and Rigging: La Bateau is equipped with an in-mast furling mainsail and a furling genoa, which makes safely and efficiently reefing or dousing the sails from the cockpit a breeze. This setup allows the skipper and crew to easily reconfigure La Bateau’s sail area to meet their needs for safety, comfort, and sailing performance through a wide range of wind conditions. The electric winch works great for managing the mainsheet or furling the genoa in stronger winds. Engine: La Bateau is equipped with a powerful 75HP Yanmar Diesel engine, which easily moves her along at over 7 knots while running at 2200 RPM. Water Heater: La Bateau’s water heater works while connected to shore power and while the engine is running. Typically, there is enough hot water in the tank after setting anchor to facilitate quick showers for several people. Being able to have a quick, hot shower at anchor after playing on the beach, hiking a trail, or sailing all day is just one of the many luxuries La Bateau provides for her crew and guests. La Bateau is also equipped a cockpit shower with hot and cold water Deck: La Bateau’s large deck provides ample room to lounge or lay out at anchor. She is equipped with numerous hatches with built-in sunshades and bug screens, which provide excellent ventilation. The electric windlass makes quick work of deploying and retrieving the anchor. Electronics: La Bateau is equipped with a VHF radio and Raymarine instruments, radar, chart plotter, and autohelm. Dinghy: La Bateau is equipped with a 10 ft. Highfield 310 Rigid Inflatable dinghy with a 6HP Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard motor. This 5-person, motorized dingy is great for taking guests to the beach, seeing the coastline up close from the water, or exploring some of the spectacular sea caves that are found throughout the Apostle Islands.
